Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

COOLTECH Srl, a company specialised in the production of components and systems for the liquid cooling of electrical and electronic devices, is seeking a MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

The selected candidate will join the Technical Department and will be responsible for carrying out projects in accordance with the company’s economic and procedural constraints.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Receiving and discussing requirements with the customer.
  • Designing technical solutions.
  • Creating 3D designs of products/machines.
  • Producing 2D construction drawings with related production/testing/inspection notes.
  • Consulting with colleagues from the Production and Quality departments.
  • Recording items in both the 3D databases and management systems and entering the main description fields.
  • Complying with NPI processes and participation in reviews.
  • Supervising the prototype production phase in close contact with the Production team.
  • Supporting suppliers of custom-designed pieces to ensure the correct manufacturing of pieces.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or other degree, but with in-depth expertise in the areas listed below (master’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in mechanical design with 2D/3D SolidWorks.
  • Previous experience in FEM design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of simulation and calculation tools (MATLAB and SIMULINK) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of machinery directives and certifications according to CE/UL/CSA standards is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the design of hydraulic and/or thermal systems is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, empathy and communication skills.

Salary and position details will be determined based on experience.
